Where Are They Now: Tina Deese

Who is she? Tina Deese, former head coach of the Auburn softball team. She started the Tigers softball program in 1995, and was 2002 SEC Coach of the Year.

What is she known for? At the time of her firing in 2013, Deese was the longest-tenured head coach in the SEC. She led the Tigers to the NCAA Tournament nine times, even hosting a regional in 2005.

You might not know... that Auburn was not the first softball program Deese was responsible for starting. Prior to being hired at Auburn, she began the softball program at Huntingdon College in Montgomery.

What's she up to now? After her unceremonious firing from Auburn, Deese elected to stay put in Auburn in lieu of taking another collegiate head coaching job. She currently serves as an assistant softball coach, as well as an assistant volleyball coach & P.E. teacher, at Beauregard High School in Opelika, Alabama.
