Player of the Week:

We're going to have to do things a bit differently this season when it comes to the weekly Player of the Week poll. Facebook has removed the feature we had been using to run it, so the poll will instead be featured on the Justin's World home page, directly to the right of the most recent post.

There are added benefits to having to use this method this season, the least of which is not the ability to add more than ten players to the weekly poll. This week, for example, there are thirteen more-than-worthy candidates who will vie for the crown. Those candidates are:

  • Hannah Alexander, USC Upstate - 3-0, 0.00 ERA, 10.2 IP, 1 BB, 16 SO, Perfect Game
  • Andrea Filler, Northwestern - .778, 1.000 SLG %, 1 3B, 3 RBI, 4 BB
  • Kellie Fox, Arizona - .556, 1 HR, 10 RBI, 5 R, 1 3B, 1 2B, 1 BB
  • Megan Geer, Tennessee - .600, 3 RBI, 4 R, 3 SB, 5 BB, 2 2B
  • Holly Luciano, Buffalo - .529, 1 HR, 9 RBI, 5 R, 3 BB, 1 2B, 1 3B, 1 SB
  • Missy McCormick, Towson - .533, 2 HR, 13 RBI, 5 R, 1 2B
  • Nicole Morgan, Texas A&M - .471, 3 HR (2 grand slams), 14 RBI, 6 R, 2 BB, 2 2B
  • Kylie Padilla, Oregon State - .476, 1 HR, 10 RBI, 3 2B, 2 3B, 2 R
  • Shellie Robinson, USC Upstate - .643, 3 HR, 10 RBI, 6 R, 2 2B, 2 BB, 1.429 Slg %
  • Taylor Schwarz, Florida - .500, 2 HR, 8 RBI, 8 R, 2 BB, 1 3B, 1 2B
  • Missy Taukeiaho, Cal-State Fullerton - .615, 2 HR, 8 RBI, 6 R, 3 BB
  • Chelsea Wilkinson, Georgia - 4-0, 0.00 ERA, 17.0 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 23 SO, Opp. % .057
  • McKenzie Woody, Mercer - .643, 7 R, 4 SB, 3 RBI, 2 BB, 1 3B, 1 2B

Voting will remain open until Thursday evening, and the winner will be announced in a release on the Justin's World Facebook page next weekend.
