Weekend Roundup

News and Notes:
  • I appreciate everybody's understanding my Internet problems that caused me to miss Friday's post. Hopefully all the problems are now resolved! Because of that & being out of pocket most of the weekend, there will be no Player of the Week poll this week. It will return next weekend.
  • Missed this last week, but congrats to Nebraska head coach Rhonda Revelle on reaching 800 career wins.
  • Former Missouri Southern State softball coach Dr. Pat Lipira will be inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame in April.
  • Minnesota ace pitcher Sara Moulton recorded her eighty-ninth career victory on Saturday, putting her in first place on the Gophers' all-time victories list.
  • Congrats to the pitchers on this week's edition of the No-No Express! If I missed somebody that belongs on this list, please do bring it to my attention so I can give them the recognition they deserve:
    • Cheridan Hawkins, Oregon (6.0 IP, 4 SO, 0 BB)
    • Lauren Cumbess, Kentucky (7.0 IP, 7 SO, 1 BB)
    • Lacey Waldrop/Bailey Schinella, Florida State (5.0 IP, 4 SO, 3 BB)
    • Jackie Bishop, Missouri Western (7.0 IP, 9 SO, 2 BB)

Photos of the Week: NPF fan Grandma on Deck posted this throwback photo of NPF commisioner Cheri Kempf. That's Kempf behind the trophy, on the right.

Also, Fresno State President Joseph I. Castro threw out the ceremonial first pitch at the Bulldogs' game on Sunday. Mountain West Softball posted this pic.
