Top 5 Battles - Who, When, Where, & How to Watch

Softball fans are in for a real treat this weekend - two different sets of NFCA Top 5 teams are set to tee off against each other, and all of the games will be available for live viewing in some areas.

#2 Oregon and #5 Washington are set to square off in a three-game set in Eugene. Originally scheduled to be a Friday-Saturday-Sunday series, it's a solid possibility that rain and weather may change plans. As it stands now, all three games in the series will be broadcast on the Pac 12 Networks.

To find out if you can pick up the Pac-12 Network where you are, you can use this "Channel Finder".

If watching the game is an impossibility for ya (like me), you can follow the games' progress through the team's Twitter accounts, @OregonSB and @UWSoftball.

The Ducks took 2 of 3 from the Huskies to win the season series last year.

On the other side of the country, the #3 and #4 teams in the nation are set to square off in an annual battle that never fails to bring excitement and shake-up the national polls.

The #3 Tennessee Lady Vols are playing host to #4 Florida this weekend; the Gators are playing their first weekend games as a non-#1 team since they took over the top spot from these same Lady Vols on February 18th.

Always a fierce series with almost a battle-to-the-death mentality, the Gators and Lady  Vols are also scheduled for a Friday-Saturday-Sunday set, with the first game scheduled to kick off at 6 p.m. Eastern time today.

All three games will be broadcast live online; Friday's game will be broadcast through, with play-by-play and color commentary provided. The second and third games of the series are set to be broadcast on And there's good news for softball fans - unlike most ESPN3 programming these days, it appears that you will NOT have to verify your subscription to a major cable or satellite carrier in order to watch the games! The Lady Vols staff put together a whole bunch of links to make it easy to watch, listen, or read - whatever is your pleasure. Find that list here.

Also on the ESPN3 docket this weekend are a handful of other good games - a Lipscomb/USC-Upstate doubleheader on Saturday; a Florida State/North Carolina DH on Sunday; the concluding game of the Lipscomb/USC-Upstate series on Sunday; and an LSU/Alabama contest also on Sunday that is subject to blackout in some areas. You can follow this link and select the date of programming you want to see to find the full schedule for a given day.
