Where Are They Now: Bailey Watts

Who is she? Bailey Elizabeth Watts, a former pitcher for the Houston Cougars.

What is she known for?  Watts spent four years as a member of the Cougars' program, though only three of them were on the field. As a highly-recruited prospect (she was entertaining Texas, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma State, in addition to the Cougars and others), Watts was a stalwart of the Cougar pitching staff and led the rotation for the latter portion of her career. In 2013, she was 19-6 with a 2.23 ERA in more than 172 innings of work.

You might not know... that last November, in an exhibition game in San Antonio, Bailey pitched against the defending NPF champion USSSA Pride. Playing for the "Texas College All-Stars", she pitched two innings and gave up one hit, while also striking out one.

What's she up to now?  After the 2013 season, her redshirt junior season, Bailey made the call to step away from the game she loved and hang up her cleats. She is now a social studies teacher in Texas, and coaches grade-level volleyball, basketball, AND softball!
