Boise State Hosts Locks of Love Charity Event

Four members of the Boise State Broncos softball team had quite the great day on Saturday... after a 7-6 come-from-behind victory over San Jose State, the quartet donated their hair to Locks of Love, to be used to make wigs and hairpieces for cancer patients.

Junior Lindsey Nicholson spearheaded the event and donated her hair, as did seniors Mackenzie Whyte and Devon Bridges and freshman Mackenzie McGill, who also earned the victory in relief for the Broncos.

Last season, the Broncos were introduced to a Locks of Love event during their series against Fresno State in Fresno. The Bulldogs hosted that event, and BSU head coach Erin Thorpe & then-freshman Madison Foster donated their hair; this year, the team brought the event home and made it a community-wide affair!

Besides the four players, assistant softball coach Shelly Prochaska and San Jose's own Erin Rodriguez went for the big chop. Other BSU student-athletes participated, as well, and sixteen ponytails of at least 10" in length were donated to the organization.

You can find more info on Locks of Love at their website, here. Check out a few photos from the event below.
