Catching up on some news from last week here... in case you missed it, Team USA softball last week announced that they have invited four new players to their summer Selection Camp, to be held on June 9-12.
Tennessee's freshman catcher Annie Aldrete; Arizona's Chelsea Goodacre; Big Ten Player of the Year from Michigan Sierra Romero; and Hallie Wilson, also of Arizona, were the quartet that accepted the invitations.
Goodacre, Romero, and Wilson have all played for Team USA at some level previously, while this will be Aldrete's first chance at putting on the red, white, and blue.
They will join twenty-four other players that had previously accepted invites to the camp, and all will vie for seventeen spots on the National Team roster. Other notables that will join them in Lynchburg, Virginia for the camp include Valerie Arioto; Raven Chavanne; Lauren Gibson; Amanda Chidester; Taylor Hoagland; Haylie McCleney; Michelle Moultrie; Sara Nevins; Destinee Martinez; and Aldrete's UT teammates Ellen Renfroe & Madison Shipman.
The roster of seventeen will be announced on June 22; those who make the team will play in Canada, Italy, and the Netherlands throughout this summer.
