Jennifer Martinez Enters MTSU Hall of Fame

Among all of the Hall of Fame announcements and inductions we've covered over the past month or so, there is one in particular that I've purposefully neglected writing about. Rather than just a short blurb in a Roundup post or a Facebook "share", I felt this lady deserved an article all her own.

Jennifer Martinez was inducted into the Middle Tennessee State Hall of Fame last weekend. Jennifer was the first player in the squad's history to be honored as a HOF'er.

A 2002 grad, Jennifer still holds several major pitching records in the Blue Raiders record books, including wins; strikeouts; and ERA. In addition to the records and Hall of Fame induction, Jennifer holds two conference Pitcher of the Year awards and a membership on the Sun Belt Conference's all-time team.

When I talked to Jennifer after the induction this week, Jennifer told me that was a kind of "nervous, excited, [and] anxious all in one"! Describing herself as equally humbled, honored, and excited to be enshrined, I was most impressed by her expressed hope that her induction will help inspire Blue Raider players in the future.

We're glad to count Jennifer as a Justin's World reader and extend to her our sincerest congratulations!
