Who is she? Christi Orgeron, a former star outfielder for the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin Cajuns and Team USA and a former draft pick by the USSSA Pride.
What is she known for? One of the best outfielders and hitter to ever grace a softball field in the state of Louisiana, Christi hit 70 home runs in her four-year career. Playing from 2009-2012 after redshirting in 2008, Christi was an All-American scholar athlete; Sun Belt Freshman of the Year; a USA Softball Player of the Year top 10 finalist; and a Senior CLASS award finalist at various points during her career.
Here’s something interesting… In addition to her experiences in college and with Team USA, Orgeron also spent 2.5 weeks playing in Southeast Asia between her sophomore and junior seasons. She expounds, “I went with a sports ministry group called Competitive Edge International. We would play softball, build relationships, and share Jesus with the people. It was a trip that forever changed my life.”
What’s she doing now? Christi currently works as an associate sales representative for Stryker, a medical device and equipment company. Working in the Interventional Spine business unit, she is based out of New Orleans. Christi also serves as an athlete representative on the ASA Softball Board of Directors.
