Aimee Creger Named Assistant Softball Coach at Pitt State

Tulsa Golden Hurricane legendary pitcher Aimee Creger has been named assistant softball coach at Pittsburg State, she announced on social media today.

For Creger, who graduated following her senior season in 2014, the position will be her first venture into the collegiate coaching ranks.

Creger ended her playing career at Tulsa as the career record holder in wins and strikeouts, with 1,080 Ks to her credit and just three career victories short of 100.

Creger played as a member of Team USA in 2013, and after sitting out this past summer due to a back injury, is set to tryout for the squad once again next month.

Worthy of note is that, despite the similarity in name to the populous Pennsylvania city, Pitt State is located in Pittsburg, Kansas, a town of roughly 20,000.

Creger joins the Gorillas' staff under the captainship of Elizabeth Economon. The squad finished 30-24 in 2014, and barely missed the conference's postseason tournament.
