In the game on February 5th, Casey suffered a tear of her ulnar collateral ligament in her left thumb during a play at second base. Although she finished that game, she has not played since.

The Sydney, Australia native had surgery for the injury a week later, on February 12th; estimated recovery time is 8-12 weeks.

A three-time member of the all-conference team, Casey ranks in the top ten in school history in on-base percentage, slugging percentage, runs scored, doubles, and walks. She boasts a career stat line of .346/29/121.

She has also appeared in eighteen games as a pitcher over the last two seasons, throwing forty-two innings and collecting thirty strikeouts.
