Where Are They Now: Aly Sartini

Who is she? Aly Sartini, a former Division 1 star player & coach.

What is she known for? Sartini was a four-year starter for the Arkansas Razorbacks during her playing days, beginning her career in the program's first-ever season and earning all-conference honors in 1999. She followed her playing career with a coaching career that spanned more than a decade and included stops at Birmingham-Southern College; Texas Tech; and her alma mater, Arkansas.

Here's something interesting... Aly has a history of helping start-up programs; she was a part of the inaugural Arkansas squad and helped start the program at Birmingham-Southern College as a coach. Her sister, Janna, was a part of the inaugural Fighting Illini squad in 2000. Aly was also the first-ever female athlete from her hometown to receive a full athletic scholarship to college.

What's she up to now? After thirteen years as a collegiate coach, Aly decided to head in a different direction with her career path. She was “given the opportunity to work for Combat Sports, the bat company [we] swung at Texas Tech for the five years I was there”. Aly says it was an easy decision to go to work for the company, and loves her new job! She has moved to the West Coast and is officially the West Coast Territory Sales Rep. for Combat. Aly’s job includes working with dealers, hitting facilities, and teams.

Quotable quote: [on what she'll miss most about college coaching] "I think I’ll miss game day the most… there’s nothing quite like the feeling of game day. You prepare so hard for it, and when you watch all of that hard work coming together, there is nothing more satisfying.”
