Where Are They Now: Samantha Hamby

Who is she? Samantha Hamby, a former pitcher for the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks.

Samantha was one of only two Warhawks 2014 seniors
What is she known for? Hamby spent two years at Central Alabama CC before transferring to ULM. Her redshirt senior season in 2014 was without a doubt her finest, as she led the Warhawks staff in ERA, strikeouts, opponent's batting average, and innings pitched (by more than 100).

Here's something interesting... Hamby's father, Al, was a championship-winning football player at ULM, and was inducted into the school's Hall of Fame in 2012.

Quotable quotes: [on what she'll miss most about playing]... "I'll miss the rush of the game and having the ball in my hand when the game was on the line."

What's she up to now? Samantha is the USSSA regional director in Northeast Louisiana & the organization's assistant state director, working on putting on tournaments across the state. In addition to that position, she is the pitching coach at Ouachita Parish High School and an assistant coach at a local middle school.
