Where Are They Now: CheyAnne Gaskey

Who is she? CheyAnne Gaskey, a former pitcher for the Murray State Racers.

What is she known for? Gaskey earned all-Ohio Valley Conference in her senior season and has several NFCA All-American Scholar Athlete awards in her trophy case. She sported a career 57-35 career record and holds the school's single-season record for wins in a season. She currently ranks second all-time in wins and pitching strikeouts.

Here's something interesting... Gaskey hails from Butler County, Kentucky and happens to be just the third individual and only female  that hails from that neck of the woods to have played Division 1 sports. In 2012, she also had her #3 jersey retired by the Butler County High School.

Quotable quote: “… The thing (or things, rather) I will miss the most are the relationships I built over the years with my team and coaches. Now don’t get me wrong, I will miss the game atmosphere, competition, and the feeling after a big win. But the hardest part of leaving was saying goodbye to people I could easily call family."

What's she up to now? In addition to her role as new fiancĂ©e and as a marketing intern at Peel & Holland, an insurance firm in Benton, KY, Gaskey recently accepted the position of head coach of the St. Mary High School softball program in Paducah, Kentucky.
