For several years, in recent history, the NPF had three solid, grounded teams and a fourth that tended to fluctuate from year to year. Though that same franchise now seems to have found a home in Washington, PA as the Pennsylvania Rebellion, the days of the New York/New Jersey Comets and Carolina Diamonds are not long-since gone.
The Comets spent all of one season (2013) in the league, finishing dead last with a small number of wins. The team folded after the year, with the remaining contracts, draft pick rights, and free agent options eventually being transferred to the Rebellion.
In our Flashback on this Friday, this photo shows a dozen members of the Comets from that inaugural and only season. How many can you name? Let us know in the comments!
