Former Oklahoma State head coach Rich Wieligman is the new head man at Division III UT-Dallas.
Wieligman was let go by OSU earlier this offseason after nine seasons at the helm of the Cowgirls program. He posted a 275-207 record during his time in Stillwater. The Cowgirls reached the NCAA postseason three times during his tenure, including in 2011 when the squad reached the Women’s College World Series.
A former NAIA college baseball all-American, Wieligman played for four years in the Detroit Tigers system in the 1980s, peaking at the Triple-A level. He also played professionally in the Dominican Republic and Japan.
As a coach, Wieligman has seen tenures with the softball programs at Baylor; Texas Tech; and Texas A&M prior to assuming the reins at Oklahoma State.
Wieligman will replace Brad Posner as head coach of the Comets.
