Where Are They Now: Alexandra MacLean

Who is she? Alex MacLean, a former pitcher for the Bucknell Bison.

Bucknell's Senior Day 2013
What is she known for? After pitching for the Bison for four years from 2010-2013, Alex holds fifteen various spots in the program's record book. In 2010, her freshman season, she threw a no-hitter, which was the program's first since 1991, nineteen years earlier.

Here's something interesting... Alex says she had a perfect attendance stretching several years, all throughout elementary and middle school… the streak was broken thanks to the game she loves, as she missed a few days here and there in high school because of softball. She says breaking that streak was “devastating!"

Quotable quote [advice to a younger generation of players]: “There are thousands of girls who are chasing the same dream as you.  Know what your priorities are. Stay humble and work hard. You never know who is watching you.”

What's she up to now? After not being accepted into graduate school, Alex began giving pitching lessons. A few lessons here and there turned into her business 7 Deadly Spins Fastpitch, where she tutors and individually coaches more than 100 pitchers! In addition to running a thriving business, Alex is an assistant softball coach at Moravian College in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania (a D3 school) as well as a teaching assistant in an autistic-support classroom at a local high school.
