Where Are They Now: Maria Pandolfo

Who is she? Maria Pandolfo, a former outfielder and team captain for the Boston College Eagles.

What is she known for? Pandolfo was selected a the Eagles' team captain in 2013, her senior season... she was the team's everyday center fielder when not injured, but she is probably best known and remembered for this catch that made highlight reels.

Here's something interesting... Maria is the third Pandolfo sister to take the field for BC softball, following in the footsteps of older siblings Angela and Danielle, who graduated in 2009 and 2010, respectively.

Quotable quote [on memories]: "The one piece of advice I would give younger players is to really cherish the times you have with your teammates and coaches. At times when you're younger, you can get annoyed with the amount of tournaments you have and the time commitment it takes to play softball. Looking back on it now, I wouldn't trade those memories for the world. The memories you have on the field and in the dugout with your friends will last you a lifetime. Those are moments that should be cherished."

What's she up to now? With a nursing degree in hand after her softball career ended, Maria quickly become an RN and now works as an oncology nurse at a hospital in Boston. She says, "Oncology is a very rewarding and tough field to be in, but it has changed my life in so many different ways." In addition to her work in the medical field, Maria continues to be a part of BC softball by volunteering to help instruct the team's outfielders and helping out alongside her father, John, who joined the school's coaching staff before the 2014 season.
