Casey Myers to Leave Auburn Softball for MLB Job

Justin's World has learned that Auburn assistant coach Casey Myers will leave Auburn for a position with Major League Baseball's San Diego Padres.

Myers, the son of Auburn head coach Clint Myers, will be apart of the Padres uniformed coaching staff. His job title with San Diego will be Special Assistant to the Manager; it is not yet known what his responsibilities will be with the team.

Casey Myers, who has been at Auburn since his father's arrival in 2013, has served as the team's Volunteer Assistant Coach during that time. During the period, he was tasked with mentoring and tutoring an Auburn offense that has since-become one of the finest in the nation. In 2015, under his watch, the Tigers boasted six .300+ hitters and five double-digit home run hitters.

When explaining his move to the SEC in 2013, coming from Arizona State where he had won two national championships, Clint Myers touted the advantages and benefits of having his family all together in one geographical area. Casey joined his father's staff, as did his brother Corey.
