It didn't take Blake Miller long to find a new gig. The former University of Virginia head coach was announced this week as the new head coach at the Southland Conference's Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
Miller spent the last three seasons at Virginia, during which he amassed a 42-116 record. Prior to the Cavaliers, he was part of the Oregon coaching staff that led the Ducks to three consecutive Super Regional appearances.
A former Team USA men's fastpitch player, Miller's coaching resume has included stints as head coach at Texas A&M-Kingsville and Darton College in Georgia, as well as assistant positions at East Tennessee State, Missouri Western State, and Mesa State.
He takes the reins of an Islanders program that posted an 18-30 record in 2016, including a 7-19 mark in conference play. The program has reached the twenty-victory plateau just once in the last five seasons, in 2015.
