Stephen F. Austin Hires Nicole Dickson

Stephen F. Austin has announced Nicole Dickson as the program's new head coach.

Dickson comes to SFA after three years and two seasons at Tyler Junior College in Tyler, Texas, where she began the softball program in 2013. Dickson's squad posted a 60-6 record in the 2016 season and earned the conference championship.

Prior to TJC, Dickson's resume also includes stops at Paris Junior College as a head coach and Howard College and Hardin-Simmons University as an assistant. Her hiring at SFA marks the first time she has held any coaching position above the Division III level.

Dickson played at Howard College and Eastern New Mexico University.

She replaces Gay McNutt at the helm of the Ladyjacks program, a squad that went 28-29 in the '16 season, including a .500 record in conference play and a trip to the conference tournament semifinals.
