Where Are They Now: Shalie Day

Who is she? Shalie Day, a former slugging infielder for the Stephen F. Auston Ladyjacks.

What is she known for? Day was twice honored as a member of the Southland Conference's all-conference team, including in both her junior and senior seasons. In her senior season of 2015, she posted a .269/.438/.435 line, including a .339 batting average in conference play.

Here's something interesting... Prior to her career at SFA, Shalie lettered in three sports in high school, including softball; basketball; and volleyball and played one season at Texarkana College, a junior college, before finishing her career as a Ladyjack.

Quotable quote: “A lot of athletes take the game for granted. Even myself looking back now, there are so many things that I could have done differently. If you play hard, it makes not only you, but your team successful. One day, you will hang your spikes up for the last time and you do not want to have “what if” moments."

What's she up to now? Since her playing career ended, Shalie is an assistant coach and residential life director as Kilgore College, a community college in East Texas.
