Former Purdue head coach Kim Schuette has been named the new head coach at Eastern Illinois University, the school announced last week.
Schuette takes the place of the departed Angie Nicholson, who left for the head coaching position at Hampton. A former EIU player, this is Schuette's second term as the Panthers' head coach, having also served in the position from 2006-2013 prior to her stint at Purdue.
Schuette collected 232 victories in in her first tenure with the Panthers, collecting two conference Coach of the Year honors along the way in 2011 and 2013.
In addition to her previous stint at EIU and her three-year tenure at Purdue, Schuette's coaching resume also includes a one-year stop as head coach at Quincy University and four years as an assistant at San Jose State in the early 2000s.
