Softball Musings

Lexie Elkins ended her career after the 2016 season, finishing her time in college with a reputation as one of the best to ever play the game. A stellar slugger for the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns who amassed seventy-five career home runs, she also recorded a career .430 batting average, hitting over .500 in her senior season. She was selected #1 overall by the Pennsylvania Rebellion in the 2016 National Pro Fastpitch draft.

Did you know that Elkins only spent three seasons in a Cajun uniform? She attended Texas Tech as a freshman in 2013, starting forty-two games behind the plate for the Red Raiders. She hit just .282 for the squad, hitting exactly zero home runs before transferring to Lafayette for the remainder of her career.
