UC-Riverside has hired former Utah Valley head coach Nikki Palmer as the Highlanders' new leader.
Palmer spent three seasons leading UVU, which was her first career head coaching position. During her three-year tenure with the Wolverines, Palmer amassed a 45-126 record with win totals of eighteen; eighteen; and nine in consecutive campaigns.
The Wolverines reached the 2014 NCAA tournament after taking home the WAC tournament championship, storming to the conference lead after going into the tournament as the fourth-overall seed.
Palmer's resume, in addition to her time at UVU, includes stints as an assistant coach at Weber State; Utah State; San Francisco State; and UC-San Diego, her alma mater.
She takes over a UC-Riverside program that had been without a head coach since Linda Garza accepted the Fresno State position earlier this summer. The Highlanders posted a 32-22-1 record in 2016, including an 8-13 mark in conference play and recorded a victory over the Big 12's Kansas.
