Australian National Team Adds New Head Coach

The Australian national softball team has named former men’s fastpitch player Fabian Barlow as the program’s new head coach.

The Aussie press release noted that the naming of Barlow came “on the back of a comprehensive review process”.

Australia is one of only two countries to medal in the sport of softball in all four Olympic Games where the sport was sponsored, joined in the feat by the United States.

Barlow, the Aussie National Team’s head coach during the 2008 Olympic Games, will lead a program that is expected to contend for a spot in the 2020 Tokyo Games in the sport’s return to the Olympic slate.
