Loeser was hired in August to replace longtime head coach Lynn Curylo, who accepted the head coaching position at UIC. Prior to joining the Raiders, he spent five seasons at Division II University of Charleston, where he led his program to the Division II World Series in 2016.

Loeser was named the 2016 NFCA Atlantic Region Coach of the Year and the Mountain East Conference Coach of the Year before departing to head to Dayton.

Sources say the program and Loeser "weren't a good fit".

Calls to Wright State administration were not immediately returned. This article will be updated as more information becomes available.
