JWOS Announces Addition of Shelby Burchell as Analyst

Justin's World of Softball announces former Tennessee Lady Vol standout Shelby Burchell as a softball analyst for the 2017 season.

Burchell will contribute regularly to JWOS content, including the brand-new Justin’s World of Softball online podcast and written articles, as well as preseason and postseason coverage.

“Shelby is one of the finest people I have the pleasure of knowing in the sport of softball and I’m so glad she has decided to join our team at JWOS,” says site founder Justin McLeod. “She will be a tremendous asset to our continued coverage of college softball and will certainly provide an excellent perspective built from her playing experience at Tennessee.”

Burchell was a four-year letterwinner as a utility player for the Lady Vols from 2008-2012. She spent time as a starter at catcher, first base, designated player, and in the outfield over her four years in the orange and white, earning an inclusion on the 2011 All-SEC Tournament Team after her extra-inning, walk-off home run against Georgia won the conference tournament championship for her team.

“I am beyond excited to work with Justin and his team at JWOS,” Burchell stated. “I can’t wait to learn and collaborate on many different projects throughout the softball season. I am thankful that Justin has given me the opportunity to expand my knowledge and love for the game through yet another avenue.”
