Kennesaw State Adds Doug Gillis as Pitching Coach

Kennesaw State has announced the addition of Doug Gillis as the program's new pitching coach.

A former men's fastpitch player like new Owls head coach Pete D'Amour, Gillis follows D'Amour from Missouri, where he spent the last eight seasons in a variety of pitching coach roles, including director of pitching and head pitching coach.

Gillis founded the Gillis Fastpitch University in 1986; during his tenure as head of that venture, he mentored three Olympic Gold Medalists and eight players who would go on to pitch in the Women's College World Series.

In addition to his time at Missouri, Gillis has also served on the coaching staff at Saginaw Valley State, a program he helped lead to an NAIA national title in 1989.

Gillis joins an Owls program with many Tiger ties - in fact, D'Amour and both assistants, including Gillis and Alyssa Cousins, either played or coached for the dominant portions of their careers at Missouri.
