Wright State Names Assistant Coach Wichman as Interim

Following the surprising, mid-year departure of Ray Loeser, a story that JWOS was the first to bring you, Wright State has named Loeser's assistant coach Justine Wichman as the program's interim head coach for the 2017 season.

Wichman followed Loeser from Division II University of Charleston this offseason after spending two years under his wing there. Under their watch, the Golden Eagles won fifty games in 2016 and advanced to the Division II College World Series before ending the season ranked #8 overall in the NFCA season-ending poll.

A former all-conference player who saw time at Northern Oklahoma College, Rogers State University, and York College, Wichman graduated from York in 2014.

Prior to joining Loeser's staff at Charleston prior to the 2015 season, Wichman began her coaching career as a fifth-year student assistant at York College, her alma mater.

Longtime program assistant coach Dave Brittingham will remain on Wichman's staff as an assistant, the school noted in a release.
