Marshall's Zerkle Named JWOS Player of the Week

Marshall senior Morgan Zerkle has been named the JWOS Player of the Week.

Zerkle hit .615 over her team's four games of the week, including a three-game sweep over conference rival Western Kentucky that ran the Herd's winning streak to fifteen games.

Three-hit performances bookended the week's slate for Zerkle, including a 3-4 showing in a midweek matchup against UNC-Greensboro.

Zerkle's weekend ended with a perfect 3-3 game in the series finale against WKU; her two extra base hits of the weekend came in this game, including a home run. She gathered a quartet of RBIs and scored two runs.

The Herd star also stole three bases on the week.

With the award, Zerkle is the first Conference USA player to be awarded the honor this season.
