Caroline Seitz Named JWOS Player of the Week

Mississippi State third baseman Caroline Seitz has been named the JWOS Player of the Week after helping lead her team to a series win over conference rival Georgia.

Seitz hit .700 over her team's three-game set in Athens against the Dwags, including a 3-4 performance in the middle game of the series. She hit four home runs, among them two grand slams, one each in the series' opening and final games.

The senior third-sacker amassed fourteen RBI throughout the weekend, including a six-RBI showing in the series' opening game.

With the weekend showing, Seitz raised her batting average to .301 on the season; her power show vaulted her season total of home runs to six and she now sports a .481 slugging percentage.

Seitz is the first SEC player to earn JWOS Player of the Week honors this season. It is the first such honor of her career.
