Hoerner, Georgia Tech Part Ways

Shelly Hoerner
Georgia Tech will have a new head softball coach next season, electing to part ways with Shelly Hoerner on Monday after four seasons at the helm of the Yellow Jackets.

Officially, the school elected not to renew the coach's contract.

Hoerner posted an 80-125 overall record over her four seasons in  Georgia, including a 32-67 mark in conference play. The Yellow Jackets ended the 2017 season on Sunday with a five-inning, run-rule victory over conference foe Pitt.

Prior to coming to Georgia Tech, Hoerner served as head coach at the College of Charleston, Barry University, and Valdosta State, as well as served an assistant coaching stint at North Carolina State.

The Yellow Jackets finished ninth in the conference standings this season, with an 8-16 conference record and a 19-34 overall mark.
