Wallace, a fan favorite and team leader, will seek to transfer to play her senior season elsewhere. Wallace was granted her release from the program and will be eligible to play immediately in 2018.

One of the few remaining everyday starters from the Tigers' 2016 postseason run that led them to the season's final game, the third game of the WCWS Championship Series, Wallace hit .333 in 2017 and led the Tigers program with a .599 slugging percentage.

She was named to both the all-conference first team and the SEC all-defensive team in 2017, the first honor of her career in each category.

Regarded as an excellent defensive backstop, Wallace has made just ten errors behind the plate in her three seasons at Auburn and owns a career fielding percentage of .983.

Wallace's immediate plans, including her eventual destination, were not immediately known.
