Roman Foore is the new head coach of the Texas Charge, after the team relieved Crystl Bustos of duty in the midst of an East Coast road trip earlier this week.
Bustos announced the news in a Facebook Live video on her personal Facebook page; a few hours earlier, the team has issued a four-sentence press release noting the change.
2017 was Bustos’ first season at the helm of the Charge; she replaced Jen Rocha at the position during the 2016-17 offseason. The Charge boasted a 10-11 record at the time of her release.
The job was Bustos’ first interaction with the NPF since she played in the league in the mid-2000s. It was her first coaching tenure.
Foore has previously served as an assistant coach for the Chicago Bandits, including during the team’s 2016 championship-winning run, as well as an assistant coach at the collegiate level, most recently at Arizona State in 2017.
