The move: Liberty has hired Kasey Fagan as an assistant coach, the school announced in a release on Thursday. A former Florida Gator and Arkansas Razorback, Fagan spent the past two seasons as a graduate assistant at Auburn. She spent two years at Florida before transferring to Arkansas to finish her career, graduating in 2015. Fagan was named an all-region selection as a player in 2014.
Analysis: The graduate assistant position under Clint Myers at Auburn has been a breeding ground for future assistant coaches over the past several seasons since he got to the Plains, and Fagan is the latest to join that group. Following Corey Myers’ departure in the middle of last season, Fagan was rumored to be under consideration for the interim pitching coach position that ultimately went to Hunter Veach, though she will not fill that role with the Flames.
