Jamie Trachsel Named Minnesota Head Coach

Jamie Trachsel has been named the next head coach at Minnesota.

Trachsel replaces Jessica Allister, who left the Gophers last week to accept the head coaching position at Stanford, her alma mater. The Gophers won the Big Ten  regular-season and conference tournament titles in 2017.

2017 was Trachsel’s first season as head coach at Iowa State, where she led the Cyclones to a 23-35 overall record and a 6-12 record in Big 12 conference play. The Cyclones finished fifth in the conference standings.

Prior to ISU, Trachsel spent six seasons as co-head coach at North Dakota State, where she five times helped lead the Bison to the NCAA tournament via a Summit League tournament championship. The winner of 221 games at NDSU, Trachsel sports a career 244-144 win-loss record and a .629 career winning percentage.
